Abu Bakr al-Tamimi informed us from ‘Abd Allah ibn Hibban, from Abu Yahya al-Razi, from Sahl al-‘Askari, from Yahya ibn Abi Za’idah, from Muslim, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid who said:
The Prophet صلى ألله عليه و سلم mentioned an Israelite who carried weapons and fought for the sake of Allah for a thousand months.
The Muslims were astonished to hear this, and so Allah, exalted is He, revealed:
Indeed We revealed it on the Night of Decree. What will convey to you what the Night of Decree is? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months!
He said: ‘This is better than the months in which that man carried his weapons and fought.’

Narrated Ali ibn Abi Talib, “As I took the sword of the Prophet صلى ألله عليه و سلم I found in its hilt a parchment which said:
“Keep relations with those who cut off from you, behave well with those who mistreat you, and speak the truth even against yourself.”
